The American Red Cross is encouraging healthy individuals to make appointments to donate blood. Donations are critical for helping to ensure a readily available blood supply for those patients who rely on transfusions. Healthy individuals who are feeling well are asked to make an appointment to donate, by downloading the free Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or by enabling the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device. Please schedule appointments prior to arriving at blood drive locations. Also donors will be required to wear a face covering or mask while at blood drives, in alignment with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention public guidance.
Monday December 7th a Red Cross Blood drive will be held at the Adair Co. Annex Building in Kirksville from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. More Red Cross Blood Drives will be held on Tuesday December 8th at the First Baptist Church in Macon from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and at Truman State University in Kirksville from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. 2020 Holiday events will kick off in Brookfield with a lighted Christmas Parade on Saturday December 5th starting at 5:30 PM on Main Street in Brookfield followed by the annual Christmas Lighting Celebration and the arrival of Santa at the East twin Park at 6PM. This is a free public event social distancing and masks are encouraged.
